From fully cellular vessels to multipurpose vessels and vehicle carriers the standard is the same, emphasising hard work, quality and customer service.

For shipping lines and exporters the ability to quickly access serviceable containers is vital. Port Otago offers a full range of depot services at Port Chalmers and Dunedin.

With container storage available for over 7,000 containers, Port Otago uses its Container Management System to ensure containers are handled efficiently. Inventory management is enhanced by the FIFO (First In First Out) principle. Storage is available for 20', 40', over-dimensional and non-containerised cargoes.

Port Otago Depot Services is able to repair all varieties of containers quickly and to the highest standard.

A wash pad for 72 containers provides efficient turnaround for dry or reefer containers prior to being dispatched to exporters for loading.

The growing exports of chilled products such as meat, dairy and apples have made cargo care a key focus for Port Otago. With over 1,350 reefer points, 400 slots specifically designed for chilled monitoring, Port Otago is fully equipped to meet the demands of the high value reefer trade. Our innovative Container Management System delivers the high standard of technology that is crucial to the management of reefer cargoes.
