Five awards within the year

Chalmers Properties and its developments attracted five industry awards during the 2024/25 year.

The RML Machinery design/build/lease (pictured) at Hamilton’s Te Rapa Gateway has enjoyed significant success, winning silver at the New Zealand Commercial Projects Awards in May, and an Excellence award in the Industrial Property category at the New Zealand Property Industry Awards in June. The office/warehouse complex was completed in October 2024 by construction company Fosters.

Meanwhile, the Port Otago Annex and Port Chalmers Maritime Museum development picked up two awards at the Property Industry Awards: Excellence in the Commercial Office Property category and Merit in the Heritage and Adaptive Reuses Property category. The Annex build and Museum refurbishment were carried out by Calder Stewart Construction.

Late last year, the Te Rapa Gateway project team won the Harkness Henry Judges’ Choice Award at the Property Council New Zealand’s Central Property People Awards. The award acknowledged the transformation of Te Rapa Gateway from 60 hectares of farmland 13 years ago, into one of New Zealand’s most dynamic industrial parks.
